BRAIN FOOD

With this particular piece I wanted to play with the idea of what we’re feeding our minds, literally and figuratively. We live in a time where information is everywhere, but that doesn’t mean it’s all good for us. Some of it is nourishing and challenging, but a lot of it is just mental junk food dressed up to look like something meaningful. The image of a brain being topped like a dessert came to me as a kind of joke, but the more I sat with it, the more I realized how real it felt. We're constantly in a mode of “consuming”. Scrolling, watching, reading. A lot of what we take in isn’t helping us grow into what we’re capable of becoming. It’s just filling space, sweetening the surface. This is not a preachy piece but more of a self-reminder, a bit of satire, and a whole lot of color.
